Virgin Australia today commenced flights between Brisbane and Bundaberg. ATR72-600 VH-FVQ operate the inaugural service. Virgin Australia will fly daily between Brisbane and Bundaberg using a mix of ATR72-500s and -600s. VA1701 will depart Brisbane at 1240 arriving into Bundaberg at 1340, the return service, VA1702 will depart Bundaberg at 1410 arriving back into Brisbane at 1510.

Virgin Australia's regional network has expanded significantly over the last couple of years with there growing fleet of ATR72's. The ATR72's have allowed Virgin to expand to new destinations, including Gladstone, Emerald, Port Macquarie, Moranbah and now Bundaberg. They are also used to complement the existing Embraer 190 and Boeing 737 services to Rockhampton. Now with the acquisition of SkyWest, Virgin Australia has become quite a significant regional airline.
